How to Mix Collagen Into Coffee Without Clumps

Collagen coffee should be simple. If your powder is clumping, the fix is usually about temperature, order, and stirring.

For hot coffee

  1. Pour your coffee first.
  2. Add the collagen while the coffee is still warm.
  3. Stir steadily for several seconds.
  4. Add milk, creamer, or syrup afterward.

Warm liquid is usually the easiest environment for collagen peptides to disperse.

For iced coffee

Do not dump a full scoop directly onto a glass packed with ice if you can avoid it.

  1. Put collagen into a small amount of warm water or coffee.
  2. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add cold coffee or cold brew.
  4. Pour over ice.

For cold brew concentrate

If you dilute concentrate with water, mix the collagen into that water first. This gives the powder more room to disperse before the ice goes in.

What tools help?

  • Spoon
  • Small whisk
  • Handheld milk frother
  • Shaker bottle

You do not need special equipment. The goal is simply to give the powder enough movement before the drink gets very cold.

Common mistakes

  • Adding powder directly onto ice
  • Adding too much powder to too little liquid
  • Not stirring long enough
  • Expecting cold liquid to mix as quickly as hot coffee
